Prevora Antibacterial Tooth Coating

Medical research shows that good teeth are important to your overall health.

Before you need a filling or crown, we will assess your risk of tooth decay. We recommend high risk patients supplement their regular oral hygiene program (daily brushing and flossing, regular use of fluoride products, and control of sweet foods) with extra prevention.

Is Prevora right for you?

If Dr. Dove believes that you are at a high risk for tooth decay, we may recommend additional protection with a new antibacterial tooth coating called Prevora. Extra prevention can be particularly important when you have a bout of cavities, dry mouth, undergo periodontal care or have extensive gum recession.

What is Prevora?

Prevora is a clear tooth coating which prevents tooth decay on the root surfaces of the teeth in adults at high risk of this disease. Prevora’s prevention is supplementary to regular oral hygiene, to controlling sugar intake and to regular visits to the dentist.

Prevora is painted on your teeth by your dental professional in a series of short, pain-free appointments. This clear coating contains a common antibacterial agent called chlorhexidine which has been trusted by medical and dental professionals for many years.

Chlorhexidine ensures that the bacteria causing tooth decay are at low levels for long periods.

Thousands of adult patients at high risk of tooth decay have been treated with Prevora. It can be trusted, is very effective and has no cosmetic effects.
